screen stays on

when i am in an app say whatsapp and i put the phone down to do something say for 20mins my phone stays as i left it with screeen on for the time i am away, instead of locking itself. please help as it drains battery

Have you looked in : Settings>Display>Sleep , to set how long you want the phone to stay awake after inactivity ?
I have mine set for 30 seconds for example

yes i have its set to 30 sec, but still screen stays on unles i press off button

My Note 3 is doing the very same thing. The phone stays on after I get an text or call. I haveit set on 30secs after no activity to turn off.

Hello.

Does it do it when you exit the app?

1. Check to see if smart stay is on. Turn it off if so.

2. Check the developer options in the settings to see if stay awake is checked.
