I seem to be having screen timeout issues with my Droid MAXX and Droid Ultra after the update. I think it may have something to do with faulty software do the proximity sensor, but I'm not sure.

Yea same here with the maxx. It happens every time my finger is anywhere near the sensor on front. Sucks to type in landscape mode and had to change the way I normally hold my device.

I'm seeing something similar as well. I don't believe I had the issue before the update (got the phone about a month before the update). However I don't have the issue when using the keyboard, but from the home screen. If I'm holding it sideways (landscape) and pause a bit before selecting the app, the screen goes dark. If I rotate it 180 degrees so the capacitive buttons are on the left, I don't seem to have the issue. It seems the update made the prox sensor more sensitive than before.

having the same issue if i reboot the phone it stops... im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the sensor i was not in landscape mode and i was holding my phone at the bottom.. my sister is having the same problem with hers too

I have had this issue as well, but it is intermittent. I have chalked it up to my hand being near the sensor as well. It has been a while since I have seen it happen.

Just had my mini replaced and screen timeout is a constant problem. Can proximity sensor or service be disabled?
