Screen timeout setting changed post android12 update

[Android Central Question]

Screen timeout setting is reduced from max 30min to 5min in android 12. Due to this, I can not set my screen on for more than 5min. Do we have a workaround/fix as it is hampering my work badly?

Can anyone please suggest the possible workaround to resolve this issue. I also tried to install few third party tool to increase the default timeout settings but nothing is working.

Can u post a screenshot of your time out display setting? If it changed in a update not sure u can do anything about it maybe try 3rd party apps

OK thanks , if you turn off accessibility can u see more then 5 minutes?


My s22U screen timeout on Android 12 is maximum 10 minutes

Sometimes also if using a theme or high contrast it can prevent u seeing more options after 5 minutes so if using return to stock just to make sure .

The KinScreen app (actually called KinScreen: Best Screen Control by TEQTIC) works fantastic for keeping the screen on indefinitely or whatever I choose, for my Pixel 6 Pro. Tons of settings and you can pick and choose which apps the screen stays on while using. Been using it for a couple years, first on my Note 8 and really old Samsung Note 12 Pro tablet (running Android 5 or 6) and now my P6P.

This app also couldn't able to override the default timeout settings which is max 5 min only. Meanwhile I just removed screen lock option from developer option, but I know it is not good for security reason but I don't have any option right now

Any more suggestions are welcome please
