That is to keep the display alive longer, the hotter it runs, the quicker it will burn out. It also helps to save battery life.

Uhhh...no.

Since LCD panels are backlit, power consumption is dependent on brightness not color.

HTC One has the best display of any mobile device on the market. It's not a good or fair comparison for the Moto X.

the htc one really is gorgeous. the X looked better than the S4, though.

Regardless of which one is more accurate, to me the display on the One was far more pleasing to my eye. YMMV, of course.

if i was on att i would be still ogling the mini just for that very reason. x would still win, but even their mini version screen was beautiful. And today when i passed by att i stopped in to see if they had a black on display, nope, still just the white, and that htc screen was just lovely. it's not even subjective.

No kidding. They're both Amoled but S4 has more pixels and higher rez, obviously. Impressive.
