Having a weird issue with my phone lately. When I watch a youtube video or Netflix on my phone my screen keeps goes in and out like it turns off? The audio continues to play fine but the video fades in and out? It seems to do it randomly with no set pattern or reason. anyone else?

Welcome to Android Central!

Have you tried booting in to recovery and clearing out the partition cache. Should sort any issues out for you.

Mine started doing this same thing. It's not as rapid as what your video showed, but mine will stay dark for a few seconds before fading back on. Did you ever find a solution that got this to stop happening?

Ah, that did seem to fix it, for now at least. I don't watch a lot of videos, so I wasn't too bothered by this, but the other day I was trying to use the UPC scanner in the Amazon app and it was doing it there too. I use that quite a bit for price checks and to look up reviews etc. So that would've definitely bothered me. I can handle an occasional reboot tho, so thanks for the tip.

Less than 2 weeks since I bought the phone and it just started doing that while watching yt videos. Super annoying - blackouts last from a few sec to 10,20. No clue why. I'll see if the reboot fixes it, but even if it does, this shouldn't be happening on a flagship phone like this. I really love everything about this phone performance and hardware (except for the size) but this ruins it all and makes me consider returning it (within 14 day period) and wait for something else to come out - factory unlocked and run on all US networks

My moto x force seems to do this in power saving mode only. Only does it every now & then but don't no if it's normal.

It's been a couple months since I posted, and I haven't had the problem again in that time. Yeah, it shouldn't happen, but if it's fixed with a reboot and doesn't come back in over 2 months time, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
