Screen turns on in pocket during incoming calls

I have moto g5 plus. This phone screen turns on during incoming calls even while in pocket causing accidental picking up of calls. Dont all phones have screens turned off in pocket by using the proximity sensor ? My old lumias had this feature. If not is there a way to tell moto to add this feature with the upcoming oreo update?

What Settings have you enabled in the Moto app? Did you enable "Pick Up To Answer Calls"?

I haven't turned any of them on.. i have started to wonder if the problem is with my specific phone.

I'm not sure, I'm not real familiar with that happening, so not sure what to recommend

That's okay, Thanks for your help anyway I can't figure it out too. Maybe issue with the software. Will try hard reset if everything fails. But, that's the last option.
