Screen Unlock Issue

Hey all, I have been having an issue with my Maxx from day one where I will try to unlock the screen and when I swype the screen to unlock the screen just goes back off and I have to hit the power button again and swype again. Sometimes I have to do this 4-5 times before the phone will actully unlock.
I am running it stock, no mods or root, and have tried restarts and wipes. I am thinking I need to take it to a corporate store, but wanted the groups opinion first. Thanks for any feed back.

I do have the display protector from the Verizon Store. I'll try removing it and see what the result is., thank you.
