Screen went black

Woke up this morning and my screen is black. I believe the phone was charged. If I hold the volume down and power on buttons for 10 seconds, I can feel the phone vibrate but the screen always stays black. If I put on a wireless charger, the light comes on the charger.
Any ideas or is it time for a new phone?

Sounds like a display issue. Might be just a loose contact or a completely damaged panel. Either way you'll need to take it in for repairs (or get a new phone). You can get an idea of how much repairing it would be by checking out the cost of a display panel and digitizer (remember, these are glued together!) for a Note 8. That (plus labor) would be your 'worst case'.

I am assuming worse case and time for a new phone. When I bought this, it was the first phone with USB-c and a large screen. I have never used the s pen. But now with the S model being the same size, makes it tough to decide what to replace with.
