screen with polarised sunglasses?

Just a quick question as I'm thinking of buying the edge. How is the screen with polarised sunglasses in portrait or landscape? Is there any loss in brightness? My old one m8 was a total pain because polarised sunglasses interfered with the screen in portrait mode which made using the phone outside on bright days really awkward!

My experience with OLED panels (most of the Galaxy series including the S7) is that they don't use a polarization since they're not LCD panels. I recall my Galaxy Nexus having a little bit of a color distortion but no "blackout", but my Note 4, Gear S2 and Tab S 10.5 do not even do that. My M8/M9 were next to unusable when I had my sunglasses on.

Great thanks. I haven't used amoled for a long time so wasn't sure if they were effected. Thanks for the clarification!

Polarized sunglasses will make your screen look a little more vibrant. A little Annoying in my opinion but not as bad as the LED

It's no where near as bad as using it with a iPhone. I don't even have to adjust my brightness on my edge.

On a iPhone you had to turn your brightness to damn near max or you were screwed.

The screen doesn't black-out at any viewing angle with polarized lenses. I was out in the sunshine all day and checked this out extensively, with two different pairs of shades (not that it should matter, really); one pair of Ray Bans, and one pair of polarized, gradient safety glasses.

I have prescription sunglasses that are 'HD' with a progressive lens. I get a bit of a rainbow ish coloring on the phone screen. I see that on my s2 watch also.

Have no issues using the phone with my polarized sunglasses. I did notice that there were some warm spots in the screen. Nothing that I'm worried about.
