SD Card/Gallery Problem

Hi

All of a sudden, the Gallery (S3 stock gallery) stopped recognising the photos on my SDCard - photos from the Camera are still shown. On the SD Card I had photos from my previous phone (folders 100ANDRO and Camera), plus a Download folder. I've had this setup for about a year with no problems, but all of a sudden, they aren't displayed in Gallery.

I've downloaded ES File Explorer and can see the files there and have removed the SD Card and uploaded to my computer; all files are there. I've tried several SD Scanner apps and also formatted the SD Card and re-added the files from a backup, but the gallery still won't recognise them.

Also, I've noticed that ES File Explorer shows 2 SD Cards (I only have 1: sdcard0 and extSdCard. sdcard0 has the S3 camera files on and extSdCard has the other files I've mentioned. I've not noticed it being split into two SD Cards before, but it may have been.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get Gallery to recognise these folders again?

Any pictures on the SD Card should be automatically recognized. The partitions you're seeing are standard Android naming, confusing as that might be. SDCard is actually your internal memory, and extSDCard is the external one.

Try clearing cache on the Gallery app through the Application Manager and reboot to let it re-build it. If not, you can try further clearing data on the Gallery app.
