SD card help please!

So I'm only posting here because I have the V10 but I'm pretty sure the SD card is the issue. All of a sudden I can't save anything to my SD card or pull anything off. Try to take a pick it says failed to write file but if I switch storage to phone it'll take the pic. Tried to move stuff from SD to internal and it just cancels. I can still see my files that are on the SD card such as pictures and music and pulling that stuff up works fine. Also have 20 gigs available on the 32 gig SD card and like 28 available on the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated, this is just a weird issue I've never seen before. Normally an SD card is just corrupt and nothing works with it. But in my case it's like half working? Thanks!

Run SD Insight and make sure the card isn't counterfeit. (Check the size the app reports and the date of the card. Most counterfeit cards report that they were made on January 1, 1970 - Unix date 0).

If the card appears good, remove it from the phone (with the phone off), put it into a card reader, plug it into a computer and see if it works. If it does it's probably a problem in the phone. If it doesn't it's probably a problem with the card. (What you're seeing isn't your files, but a list of them. The list could be good and the rest of the card could be bad.)

If the card is bad, what you do depends on what make card it is. SanDisk replaces them with no hassle (they have an RMA request form on their site - SanDisk Online RMA Request), other manufacturers run from "almost no hassle" to "it's not worth the hassle".

Thanks for the quick reply. It's san disk that I got from lg with the g4 promo so I assume it's legit. I'll try the card reader in the computer. I was literally going to swap over to my 200 gig anyway so if anything I'll just start fresh. Thanks again.

Just remember to unmount any SD card before removing it from your device.

I have had a few times where suddenly my V10 does not recognize that there is an SD card in the phone. So yes in my case it was all or nothing not 1/2 working like yours. Odd.

Re-starting the phone always gets things back to normal for mine. I assume this has not worked for you? Mine is a 3 year old 32 GB card that I had used in my Note3 so I was thinking that may be the issue. I have not yet taken the time to transfer files to the new 200 GB card I got from the LG promotion. Should do it soon I guess.

I eventually just gave up... Everything is backed up anyway so I just chucked the 32 gig and popped in my 200 gig. The 32 was only a few months old... I'm thinking it might be the phone now though because number 1 I can still access everything on in and 2 when I formatted it, it seemed to keep everything on the SD card and delete stuff from my phone... I'm not sure lol its working now with the 200 gig so I'll just go with the flow. Thanks for all the help!
