OK, so my mom had to have her s3 replaced because the charging port broke. She got the replacement in the mail, took it to her closest sprint store. They helped her get her pics and contacts transfered to her new phone. She had a memory card in her older phone but said that when they tried to put it in her new phone they said that some sort of card that was in it couldn't be removed. Anyone have any idea what that would be? Doesn't sound right to me at all. Keep in mind that my mom is in her 60s and doesn't know much when it comes to phones and I am 4 hours away and can't just jump up and go help her with it.

Any help would be appreciated

That doesn't make any sense, if they're talking about the microSD card. If there's one already in the replacement phone, it should be easily removable, unless it's stuck for some reason, in which case whoever supplied the replacement ought to take it back and give another.

However, if they mean the SIM card, then it might make more sense, because it apparently can't be removed on the Sprint S3:

But Sprint should still be able to activate the phone on her line using that SIM, assuming it's still a Sprint-compatible phone.

That would make sense if she is confusing the sim and memory card. I'll will call her in a bit and try to figure it out again. I wasn't aware that the sim card isn't removable in the s3. Thanks for that info.

She (and they) may also be confusing sdcard and extSdCard. The first is an area of internal storage, the second is a card that can be removed. You can't remove sdcard - they transferred what's on it to sdcard on the new phone..
