Sd card items not showing up

I inserted a new micro sd card into my galaxy S5; it contained many of the same files as the previous (smaller) card. YET, some of the old files, and many of the new files are not showing up on my phone. I looked under video, and my files, audio---and again, some old files are missing and some new files are, too - and they were all copied to the new card.

Help!
Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! How did you copy the files to the new card?

I'm still having issues with new sd card
-- I reformatted this (128gb) sd card in my laptop
-- started saving music and video files to sd card
-- noticed write speed at about 355 kbs, on the low end to about 7mbs, on the high end.
-- not sure why some files are being written so slow, and others are being written extremely fast
-- I started saving music and video files to this sd card yesterday, and it is still in process (I have about 100gb of files to add to the card)
-- I bought the card to not only bring all my music and videos to my phone--but also to save all my data from my laptop as a backup..
-- will keep you updated.....at least the card is good, it's recognized by both my laptop and phone....anyway, like I said, I am still in the process of saving files (60 gb and another day to go)

Also---noticed another issue to day
--while in the middle of a phone call
-- i am unable to get to my apps
--when i hit the home button i get google
--when i hit the back button--nothing happens
--i 'should' be able to surf my apps during a phone call, right?
-- i was able to with my last phone.

Oh--and as far as HOW I copied items to my 128gb sd card--
--right click--send to--'E'
and, also copy and paste

and, I am adding music, video, and virtually every kind of file to the card as storage/backup
-- I expect my phone to not recognize Certain files
-- but, I do expect it to see my music and video files
-- if it could see my writing files, that would be cool, too

What format did you use? FAT, exFAT, FAT32. NTFS? What allocation size?

You can view all files using one of the many file managers on the app store. There are probably apps to view all of the file types as well.
