SD Card Mechanical/Electrical Issue

Suddenly the SD card will not work. When plugged in and "locked" in position, it works until I release my finger from the card. Tried a couple of other cards from old phones and the same thing is happening. If I hold my finger on the card it works, when finger pressure released it quits working. The card remains in the locked in position when it is not working. Any ideas?

I have heard that a piece of paper or part of an index card might help putting pressure back on the card. I am not sure if I would do this. The paper getting stuck, possibly creating a fire hazard and such.

Well it is fixed, sorta. I was able to cut a tiny piece of one of those thin plastic billfold calandars. Carefully pushed it in next to the seated SD card and it is now working.
