SD Card not mounting to PC

I've seen a lot of similar threads about this but not a single one has worked for me.

Hoping to root my device, I downgraded back to Froyo, in hopes that would also fix the issue with my SD Card.

Basic rundown of what happens with the card: While I was on Gingerbread, I'd be able to connect my phone to the charge/mount cable that came with my device when I bought the phone, as always, a notification would come up for mounting the SD card to my computer. Here's where the issue then started. I'd click on turn on, and it would turn on like it normally would, but it appears that it wasn't showing up on my Computer, so I simply couldn't get access to my SD card's files without taking out the SD card and using an adapter. I've tried installing the USB drivers over and over again over the past few months with ZERO success, the phone just doesn't want to mount.

Now I've downgraded to Froyo in hopes that it would help, but now the USB Mount notification doesn't even come up.

I've also tried formatting my SD card, wondering if the problem lied in a file within the card, but still nothing.

If anyone has actually been able to get USB Mounting working again, I'd be thankful for the help.

So the card works in the phone and in the SD card adapter, but not when trying to mount it on a Windoze machine through USB? That is most likely a driver issue. Double check that you have the right driver for your machine/device pair and try again. There are so many wrong combinations and only one right one.

It could be the cable or port. I have recently seen that not are made as well and they can go bad.

You could try using a Linux live disc to check the hardware aspect; Linux does not need any driver installs to work with Android. Give Mint a spin and see if you can mount it.

I've downloaded drivers from the LG site, they never seemed to work. The cable could be at fault but there's no way to know until I get a replacement. And I'll look into Linux and see if it helps
