I recently purchased a Sandisk 64GB SDXC Class 10 card for my GoPro camera. When I went to plug it in to my Windows XP which is up to date, it did not recognize it. I thought it strange since I had a Sandisk 64GB class 6 card for my S3, and I did not have any problems with my PC recognizing that card. So I tried my Windows7 laptop, same thing....."not recognized". I then tried my Vista PC, again same thing. I suspected a bad card and was about to return it when I decided to try my kids MAC  in the garage. Low and behold in worked. Now I am really confused  and starting to pull my hair out. I went back to all 3 PC's and I tried different ports, cables, even taking the card out and using a card reader............no luck. So I researched specs for this card and found this:

SDXC Memory Cards for Computers

"The exFAT file system used for SDXC is available on Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (SP1 or later) with exFAT file system update (KB955704) available from the Microsoft Download Center. If you want to use an SDXC card in the SD slot on your computer, you need an SDXC compatible driver for the SD slot.* Contact your computer manufacturer to confirm the SD slot on your computer is compatible with SDXC cards and for availability of the SDXC driver."

Even though all my computers were up to date, not all computer manufacturers will have this update, you will have to download and install the drivers for these cards from Microsoft. This only applies to the new Class 10 cards, as I had no problems with the class 6 card. After installing this on my computers the card was recognized. Hope this helps someone not to pull their hair out! :D
