SD Card Not Recognizing

When I connect my phone to my pc via USB, the phone is recognized but the SD card isn't. An error pops up a couple times saying "please insert disc in drive E" then it gives up. I want to transfer some video files from my cpu to my phone but can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

This happened to me and I found that there was a conflict with the drive names. The SD card was trying to use a network drive that was already being used. I temporarily disconnected the drive on my computer (right click on drive and hit disconnect) and the SD card showed up right away.

That sounds about right, I do have a few external hd's connected. I'll disconnect them & try reconnecting the phone. Thanks for the tip!

Other troubleshooting for when the computer charges the phone but will not recognize the SD Card.
-try a different USB Cord... sometimes others work while some will not.
-try a different USB Port... possibly one located behind the computer.

Now this is getting frustrating, I tried disconnecting my other usb ports, using different cable, using different port, unmounting sd card until connecting then remounting, formatting card, all were unsuccessful. I'm starting to believe that something is faulty. I synced my music onto the card with no problem, but it doesn't recognize when I connect to my pc no matter which "connect to pc" option I pick, it still shows my E: drive as a CD & keeps giving errors saying that there's no card in drive. Any other suggestions?

Do you have USB Debugging turned on? Menu.. Settings.. Applications.. Development.. Turn on USB Debugging. When connected to the computer.. pull down the notification bar and switch to .. Mount as Disc Drive.

Yep, debugging is on, that was my first issue when my pc didn't recognize the phone at all, so I turned that on, and that brings us to the present...

Depending on the PC's OS... I have Windows 7... right click My Computer > Manage > under Storage, select Disk Management... find your conflicting drive... right click one of the drives that are conflicted, and select Change Drive Letter and Path > change the drive letter to something that is not being used.... G:, H:, I:, etc.

I have a pretty old cpu (windows 98 I think), but I never had any issues connecting any other devices via USB. I'll try changing the letter drive & path to see what happens, thanks for the suggestion, hope it works!
