sd card photos to laptop transfer

Hello,

I have a question about transferring photos from an sd card to my laptop. My phone says everything is stored on the sd card. (sdcard0) When I insert the card in a usb reader I am told that there is nothing on the sd card. How can this be? I can see the photos on my phone under scdard0 but it does not show up as an option to open. The extSdCard file is all that shows up on the laptop as an option to open and it is empty. Any suggestions? Thank you, in advance, for your help.

I always sync all my phone pics to Dropbox as a backup, and my PC accesses them from there.

I have never used my drop box. I have signed up. How do I sync the sd card to dropbox?

Just download Dropbox from the play store onto your phone.
