SD Card Question

I am using a Galaxy Tab 4 7.0" running 4.4.2. I was wondering is there any way to have a SD card act like it's internal storage? I only have the 8GB model and I can't install all the apps I would like to.

If you root, you can run External 2 Internal SD (Root). It swaps mounting, so the 8GB is mounted as sd1 (external), while the external card is mounted as sd0 (internal).

Two problems with this (other than having to root which, if your kernel date is June 2, 2014 or earlier, is trivial with Towel Root):

1. If you remove the card, you don't have any of your installed apps, "internal" data, etc.

2. The card is made differently than the internal memory (it's not made to be written to constantly - like an app constantly saving its data), so the card may go bad sooner. May. May not also. But by the time it does, 128GB cards will probably be pretty cheap.

Or, just do what I do. When you install an app, go to settings, general, applications, and look at the SD card column. Samsung lets you move most apps to SD by default after you install them. Just find any app in the column that lacks a check mark, click it, the click "Move to SD card."
