SD card slot

Android doesn't allow moving apps there anymore so its usefulness has diminished. I guess it could be useful to store long high-res videos (1080p and above resolution).

Mostly my SD card is filled with images from WhatsApp and documents I downloaded, and even that is taking up less than 1GB.

Yes my current SD card is all images. I mean they're saved on Verizon cloud so I guess that's safer than an SD card?

Onedrive 1TB space as backup is fine for me. I believe this new memory storage is much faster than the previous model as well. 512GB is a lot of space. :)

While I'm definitely not in the SD card camp, I will say it's a bit strange that they don't include them in phones, but my Tab S8 has a micro SD card slot...

SD cards are so much slower than internal storage, and besides phone manufacturers apparently want to push people to pay for more storage.

Even though I'm on UFS 2.2 there is still an application that takes some time to load (although admittedly it is a resource intensive one).

SD cards worked just fine for pictures, music and small files. The speed is used to justify dropping the SD card. It's all and only dropped for upgrade revenue for more memory IMO.

Yep, so slow most shooting modes in the camera had to save directly to internal storage. They are useless for the higher resolution images and burst speeds.

They're OK for file storage and to store media on but that's about it.

I wish my note 20 ultra never had an an sd card slot. If it didn’t, I would not encrypted my entire Iraq deployment videos, and then forgot to decrypt it before removing it to sell the phone.
