..will a 3rd party SDHC card work properly in my new S3 or does Samsung make you buy theirs ? Shopping around net and have found some good price for 16 and 32 G

You don't have to use a Samsung card. Feel free to look for a deal. One thing to keep in mind on the pricing is sd cards have different classes (for example a class 10 card has a faster transfer rate than a class 4)
