I use a 64GB Samsung EVO card. I've only got 5GB of space left on it and now am thinking of upgrading to something even higher...

Just a note: This card has 48MB/s read speeds. Since buying it, there have been better cards outed with faster speeds.

Check out this blazing fast PNY microSD card:

I will say that with my Samsung card, I have not had any issues with lag reading or writing to it. It's pretty fast at these speeds for playing any media, even 4K video. So if you are constantly moving large files to and from the external card, you may want to look into buying something faster than 48mb/s.

I know it supports 128gb cards as well. Supposedly phones that support 128gb can also support the 240gb cards as well. Then you wouldn't have any storage issues...

I use SanDisk cards, never had a problem.

What all can be stored on these SD cards from my phone?

Pictures, movies, installed applications (not all, but move the big ones with large OBB data), any type of media that you would playback. I also keep system image backups and custom firmware/googleapps zips that are flashable, but that is if you are rooted.

Pictures, videos, downloads, music. You can also move some apps (or parts of apps) to the card. I use an app called AppManager III (used to be called App2SD. It's in the Google Play store). It will analyze all your apps and tell you which ones can and can't be moved to the card. Also, when you install a new app or upgrade an app, you will get a notification if the app is able to be moved to the card.

You can also backup apps to the card using Titanium Backup. You could probably find an app out there to backup your contacts, texts, etc. I usually back that stuff up to the cloud.

So i use Spotify for all my music, would that save me space on my phone?

I have several different brands of micro sd cards in different phones over the past few years. My current daily driver is an LG G3 with a PNY 128gb micro sd card. I seem to store alot of photos, movies, and other mics files on my phone. I have used san disk, samsung, pny, and patriot brands with no issues. I'm the pny because I got it on sale from amazon. Check amazon and walmart, sometimes you can find 64gb micro sd cards for under $20 on either site. I would recommend any brand name card.

Yes, I have about 4 GB of saved playlists (Premium option) downloaded to my external SD card for Spotify. You can change the destination in the options.

Just ordered this one....

The LG G3 can support even a 1TB of sd card but it courses... It does not exist and it will be as expensive as buying a Mac Pro computer. The LG G3 is an amazing phone.

I purchased the exact same EVO card, also w/o any problems. $20 with Prime is a good deal. Never have had problems with Sandisk. Had a problem the one time I purchase PNY, but that really doesn't mean anything. YMMV
