SD Storage problem

Thanks, took a look at that thread but can't seem to find this fix. What else can I tell you about the files in Astro. Or should I just call it a day and have them in both places. I was concerned with the internal memory

HTC tried to come up w/ an update patch it but never managed to resolve it in GB. The only real fix that corrects the issue is to clear the davlik cache. Which is not something I wouldn't recommend if your unfamiliar w/ working from recovery.

Are the pics still utilizing space on the internal SD after moving to SD card2?

Using Astro, what do you have in the DCIM folder on SDcard?

In Astro, use the search feature to see if you can find a .nomedia file? If so, delete it.

Did the thumb data file carry over from the move from int. to ext.? Delete it if you see it. It should regenerate a new one upon restart.

Previously, have you done any of these:

1. Tried unmounting the sd card and remounting it?

2. Cleared out the HTC apps cache in sd & storage settings?

3. Done a factory reset from hboot?

I'm going to look into some of the things you mentioned don't have a USB cable with me but what I can say is that using Astro there isn't any files in the DCIM file in the sd file. What i don't get is why they would show up when i plug it into a computer and not physically in the file on the phone. If i attempt to do a factory reboot as you mentioned doesn't that wipe out all phone info?

I was hoping you had corrupted thumb data or something in there. For whatever reason GB didn't allow that storage info. to be cleared when you moved them, it incorrectlly tossed it back in the cache for quick access the next time you opened to view, Unfortunately, a reboot from hboot will wipe the phone if you reset but it will clear the cache erasing the current internal storage snafu. It's a pain in the butt but it's the best bet for a solution running stock. The ICS update will wipe it as well eventually. FWIW, this OS flaw doesn't appear to be an issue on android 4.0.

P.S. Is the fast boot option in settings, checked or not? That alone can cause sd card conflicts if selected.

Fast boot is under Settings>Power I'm rooted but I enjoy learning about the issues that arise on whatever my current device is in hand, so thanks to you as well. On the bright side, at least, you can look forward to the ICS update a little more than before.

Eventually I'm hoping to grow a set and try the root and unlocking thing lol. Again thanks. What you said seems to be what's happening. I deleted the thumbnails folder from the HTC storage in the dcim folder and when i accessed the gallery and plugged the phone back into the USB they appeared again after it was opened. What the hell. I'm glad I could help lol
