SD took a dump!

After the last upgrade (for sure) I can no longer access my SD card. Gonna replace it. I know it's the card as I've taken known working cards and they are fine in the phone. And the bad card doesn't work in known good tablet.

Has anyone else had their SD card due after the update? The card is small anyway. I just have to figure out how to get the pics off it now.

SD cards have a limited number of read and writes. If it's pretty old, the last update would have changed a few files in the card to access it properly, so it could have just used up the final read/writes.

Try PhotoRec (instructions at PhotoRec Step By Step). If the pictures are still on the card, PhotoRec will recover them, whether the card's filesystem is bad or not. (It ignores filesystems, so a FAT32-formatted card is the same to it as an ext4-formatted card - it just looks for data on the card.)

If the card is unreadable, however, there's nothing that can get the pictures from it. (Which is why, if it's important it should be backed up. Not just pictures - anything.)
