[SEARCH] Best choice for someone who is big into rooting and modding

So my OnePlus 8 pro is nearly done with, and I'm done with the company, it's no longer as open or a phone manufacturer as it was and they've started locking down on newer models, I don't want to jump through hoops just to root or flash my device. So far I've honed into 2 possible choices. The ximi 13 ultra or pixel 8 pro, now the pixel 8 pro is apparently better for modding because it's straight from Google, but the ximi by far has the better specs. What do you all think? Also I have heard that miui sucks but that the ximi probably won't have any roms, does anyone have confirmation on this?

A Pixel should be easy as pie to root, but I've never done one personally, so can't be sure. You will definitely find a much wider selection of ROMs for it though.
