searching Google, results in Chrome

When I search in the Google bar on the home screen, I get a list of results, of course. When I click on those results, I want them to open in the Chrome browser.... But they instead open in a quasi Chrome thing. There is a menu to then open that result in Chrome, but I want it to start there instead of the extra click

Open the Google Now app, swipe in from the left, tap Settings>Accounts & Privacy, ​and turn off Open Web Pages in App.
