Searching Location

I notice that quite often I get a "Searching Location" notification. I am concerned that this will impact the battery. Location Reporting and Location History are off. I realize that I can turn "Location" off but I'm guessing that needs to be on for Google Maps and Assist to work. Any thoughts?

Is your GPS on, or is the Location function on Battery Saving mode?

I don't think Google Maps is associated with a "Searching Location" notification, so I wonder if you have any other apps installed that have some location-based function. Check the settings of your various apps, and see if there is an app whose location function you can turn off (if you don't need it).

I believe the GPS is "on." I will check my apps to see if that shows anything that can be modified.

That happened with me because of the moto assist driving and home being on.

Those two check every minute to see where you are. Once I turned those off, I stopped getting the notification.
