I was noticing that i wasnt getting the life I used to out of my Note 1 battery but its been a year so I ordered a new battery.

Then new battery is much worse and someone said to me when I was complaning that I need to "season" or prepare the battery in some way during first use. How do I do that and is there a way to salvage this.

This morning i barely had screen on and only got 5h out of a full charge. Just in case its not a battery training issue here are some screenshots.

Aside from only using OEM batteries and chargers. Charge overnight drain fully charge again rinse lather repeat. 3-4 times before your battery works well.

I thought I bought a OEM battery but your post encouraged me to pull out the newly purchased battery and compare it to the original one that came with the phone. The new one is on the left the one that came with the phone is on the right. I am concerned I bought a fake.

There are suttle differences in the label. Also I bought a few new batteries from the same supplier and they all have the same s/n. I thought this to be a smoking gun but then I read that the s/n is actually a batch number so its possible to have a few with the same s/n but the source was not reliable so I dont know conclusively if this is ture or not.

I watched this video and now I am pretty sure I have a fake.

FAKE / COUNTERFEIT SAMSUNG BATTERY FROM EBAY - YouTube

My original on the right has a flat silver finish on the back of the label and the chrome on the battery is unscratched and has a made in Japan engraving.
The fake on the left has a shiny finish on the back of the label and poor quality adhesive. Also the chrome is all scratched and there is not made in Japan engraving.
