Hi all,

I am looking at getting a gear S3, wanted to know if there are any issues getting second hand?

I know the Apple watches use to be locked to the apple id they had been signed into.

Thanks

As long as they reset it, it should be fine. I sold my T-mobile one when the Verizon version came out, and the person was able to use it just fine.

The carrier LTE models have a non-removable SIM inside and are locked to the carrier.

What kind of deal are you seeing for a used one? Are you looking at carrier or Bluetooth? Best Buy marked them down to $269 for the Bluetooth version I noticed yesterday. That sucks the same price I bought mine for about a month ago with price match on Amazon.

Yeah, this part kinda sucks because you can't use it on prepaid. I have AT&T Prepaid with an LTE version of the Samsung Gear S3, and they can't activate it no matter what they try.

If you buy a used carrier version S3 but don't activate it will it still work with just Bluetooth or wifi? I've seen good deals on used Verizon models but don't care about enabling LTE.

If you're buying use, take in consideration all the good info from previous posters.
But also, check the watch personally before buying, connect it to your phone and tested.

Thanks, that's why I'm here. So will a carrier version work fine without LTE enabled? I don't need it to work without my phone.

Any Gear S3 from T-Mobile or any other carrier will pair with a Samsung phone from the GS6 up until now without a problem via bluetooth.
It'll let you answer and make calls and texts, amongst other things.
For example, my Note 8 has service with Sprint, but my Frontier is the Tmobile version.
You don't have to have service on your watch to use it.

Thank you. I ended up taking the plunge on a refurbished S3 Classic bluetooth non-LTE. Seller has 30 day return policy so I can put it through testing when I get it. I'm very excited to try it out.

Unboxing pictures!
Is that one able to make and receive phone calls?
