second screen doesn't show

Can't figure put how to get it back its marked as on.seeing the notch only now .

Settings/ Display/ New second screen- you should have a choice of standard or custom

Not all apps are compatible with that feature

The second screen is always on. You cannot turn it off, only change the color next to the notch.
