Second Screen

When my screen is off I do get notifications in the second screen, but my problem is that it's too dark. The second screen doesn't light/wake up and so I can't see what the notification is. How do I fix this?

The V10 is temporary while I wait for my replacement Note 7 to arrive.

The second screen does have a brighter mode ( like when main is on and outdoors it's fairly bright). But it seems to be controlled by light sensor and if main screen is off. In indoor light and with main off, it seems to default to a lower brightness. And it's rather hard to see sometimes. Unfortunately there isn't a user adjustable setting to override it that I'm aware of.

Turn the brightness level of the main screen to 100%, then turn main screen off. The second screen will be brighter. (somewhat)...

Tried that and still no difference.
