Second thoughts on 10+

I have only had mine for a little over 24 hours and when I picked up my Note 9 earlier it already felt a little heavy and dated in comparison.
I'm getting crazy good battery life and FP sensor works great

I made a separate thread but it hasn’t really gained tracking so I will ask it here. Of the people that upgraded do you have better or same signal strength. I’m looking for numbers not bars. I have only used the note 8 and an iPhone before that. Currently testing and debating a pro Max ATM but I love the note 8 and I still seem to get good battery life out of that too so whats y’all’s battery life like?

Spreading the same topic over multiple threads makes it harder for people to go back and find the information later. If anyone wants to discuss the topic of signal strength, they'll do it in the thread that's devoted to it.

I just spent over $1k, and for what?

I'm in the camp that most devices across the board that are 1 generation apart don't offer significant advantages over their previous generation, contrary to what the industry would have us believe. But no doubt there are incremental improvements on sum of all the parts regularly.

Industry feeds Media, Media feeds Consumer, Consumer feeds Industry. Rinse and repeat every 6 months. That's a sweet gig for everyone but the consumer.

So yeah, a $1000.00 is a lot to throw down every year when there's really no need unless you are into the hobby [sadly, I am] and can afford to, or you're cutting your fingers on a shattered screen.

I keep reading folks having issue with on screen FPS but not me. Workin 99% of the time. Maybe you want to re register it?

Also, enable face unlock, should help get some of that frustration out :).

Love my Note 10+. Camera big improvement. And screen is beautiful. Fast storage and 256gb had me saying good bye to external cards. Phone just runs smooth.
My FPS works great but the in displays can't compete with the capacitive FPS. The note 9 I could have unlocked before taking it out of my pocket. I could also use FPS gestures for the notification tray. I understand that's the way tech is going but it is not better. Saying that, I LOVE my Note 10+. Never cared for my Note 9 appearance wise. I always ought it was ugly compared to the Note 8.

To start with, I've had Notes since Note 2, with few big-screen iPhones sprinkled in-between. Recently went from Note 8 to Note 9, and now just got 10+. My problem is, for the first time in Note line it seems like a regression to me. I survived Note 8 crappy battery, and Note 9 was a real upgrade. Note 10+, other than the bigger screen, is driving me nuts with the finger scanner, power button on the other side, and no headphone jack is a PITA. It feels about as fast, the battery life feels comparable. I mainly upgraded because my wife always gets my old phones, and a 2 year old Note 8 battery life was driving her nuts, but I'm so conflicted. I just spent over $1k, and for what?

For those that upgraded from Note 9 and have had their 10+ for a while, are there things you have discovered that make you happy you did? I've only had it 5 days, and have another 9 under Verizon to return/exchange it...

ALL of the points you listed (power button, headphone jack, fingerprint scanner) are ALL GARBAGE on the Note10+. Battery life VS my Note9 IS INDEED phenomenal. But the in screen fingerprint scanner is TRASH. It is TOO slow and too small!! The power button location is asinine. Lastly, there is ZERO justification for removing the headphone jack. Bluetooth audio devices simply ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH and have to maintain battery on yet another device. The Note10+ might as well be a line relaunch and start as simply "Note" as it the 10+ is a profoundly frustrating iteration. I thought I would also forget/learn to ignore the punch hole. I HAVE NOT.

I went from an 8 to a 10+ and am totally happy. Power button: non-issue. Fingerprint scanner: great (and face unlock covers everything else). Lack of headphones jack: non-issue so far (may pick up a dongle "just in case"). Pinhole camera: thought it would bother me, but total non-issue.

10/10 would upgrade from Note 8 again.

I agree 10000000% with this. To me this is the worst note yet and I've had them all except for the 9 and 7. I didn't even have the phone a day and I went back to the note 8. I will be picking up another pro max soon if I feel the need to upgrade. The note 10 wasn't even any faster the better looking then my note 8 and battery life is about the same.

Unfortunately an in screen FPS can't work immediately out of pocket because as we know you can't feel for the sensor. It is a minor convenience for me, but recently I tested out the smart lock features because a forum member was having trouble keeping it unlocked at home. I now have the on body detection enabled and it makes things easier for me when it comes to unlocking.

I don't know , I don't have the need to unlock my phone in my pocket lol, even if I could i would have to remember which way I put it..smart Lock would be the way to go but I don't use that either.

Neither do I but I was just presenting alternatives. For the most part I don't need to lock my phone but it's a back up in the event I screw up.

I feel the same way.

None here, though some things I wish were different. Mainly, FLAT SCREEN SAMSUNG! We all know you can do curved screens, enough already! Just STOP IT!

The ISFPR should have been optical...had some phones with optical and S10 & now Note 10+ and optical is WAY BETTER.

At first I hated the power button on the left side, now I actually like it and oddly prefer it, and I'm not a lefty. I just find I hold my phone more in my left hand than right, so, makes sense.

Last, even though OneUI is a major improvement over previous Sammy skins, I still wish Sammy would go stock skin instead and just add their plethora of tweaks/apps etc on top.

Overall, still loving it. This is the first Sammy phone in a long time I didn't decide to sell pretty quick after getting it.
