Hi, I have my lock screen activated on my G6,+ sim lock +secure start up. I have a complicated pattern swipe as a lock and I find when I switch on my phone I have to enter my pattern lock.. Sim pin.. Then pattern lock again. It's a hard pattern and sometimes takes me a few mins to get it right. If I switch off my secure start up & leave screen lock & pin only, I'll only have to enter my pattern once.. If i happen to lose my phone & a thief puts in his own sim before I can remotely disable it, will he be asked for the pattern lock? Or do I need to have secure start up activated for that?

Yeah on startup if you have sim pin you must enter that 1st, then pattern lock... Idk why but u can't use finger print on startup... 1st pin than pattern lock... Idk if you can disable that i think you can't

My swipe pattern comes first.. Then sim pin .. Then swipe pattern again. Seems like overkill. Which setting ensures it asks for a swipe pattern if a thief tries to put in his own sim?

It always goes swipe then pattern... It ensures because pattern lock is in phone settings not ur sim settings. 😝

It is for security purposes. This way you can't be forced to put your finger on the phone to unlock from boot. It is meant to be something only you would know / have access to (your PIN or whichever).
