Hi, I was told yesterday to remove my EVO from our corporate exchange svrs because of security problems with the Android OS. Here is what our security guys claim...

1) No precise identification of Android device in ActiveSync (generic ID shown)
2) No way to identify ?rooted? device
3) No device\SD encryption
4) Different devices (with a same OS version) are behaving different way
5) Simple password acceptance
6) Remote wipe delay up to 5+ hours
7) Ability to bypass (temporary) the enforcement and work without password \ timeout lock

Our company will hold off on Android approval until an appropriate MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution is available.

So my other questions are: Are other compaies also holding out allowing Android devices on their exchange servers?
If the above problems do exist, is Google working to resolve?

Thanks...

I work in a hospital and they just enacted encryption requirements on all smartphones for email and calendar access. I've been told my Android (EVO) is not compatible with the hospital's technology.

The only phones they currently support are iPhone and Windows 6.5
I believe the hospital is using MobileIron- bummer for me!
