My phone is still on the April security patch after updating to Oreo. TMobile has always updated the security every couple of months. It's now coming up on 6 months. That is quite rediculous for a phone that's supposed to keep up on updates through the first quarter of 2019.

I think updates may be finished for the S7/S7 Edge phones. My T-Mobile like yours in on April. I have a US unlocked S7 Edge that is on the July 1 update.

Thanks for the response. I could have sworn the updates continued through March of 2019 but your probably right.

That's what I thought as well. 2 years for OS updates and 3 years security updates.
My Note 4 ended in August 2017 and came out around August / September 2014.

Where are you guys quoting that from? I mean good claims that but I don't recall Samsung claiming that.

I must have heard this years ago. I always knew my work Note 4 phone was going to be considered out of compliance come August 2017.
I just found this web page on the Samsung security site. While it doesn't state how long a phone is supported, it clearly shows that the S7E should still be getting monthly SMR updates.

My US unlocked S7 Edge just got the August 1 update and my T-Mobile S7 Edge is still on April. We can blame T-Mobile for this.

You would think after the carrier stopped updating, you would be allowed to download an update from Samsung at your own risk. Just put a disclaimer before downloading and installing. I'm not sure what a security update can mess up, especially if your phone is no longer getting OS updates.
