Security update

It is frustrating. I think there was an issue with the December feature drop if I remember reading correctly where it was late as well.

I still think the issue is on Verizon and not google. It seems google had this released already and Verizon is the one taking forever to approve it and roll it out.

This is one place where I like apples updates they come directly from apple with no intervention from the carriers.

Update is finally downloading to my phone this morning. It's about 10am in California.. on Google Fi. Is it finally showing up for you guys as well?
Same here... Pro 7 on Fi.... Same on 7
June update in June, what is all the fuss about

It's kind of late, and all of the features they touted last week in an email are server side switches which end up happening over time... so more waiting.

Waiting is good for you...builds character and patience and gives you a good excuse to yell, scream, and swear 🤬

I wouldn't have really cared if they didn't send me an email last week telling me to OTA my phone when I couldn't actually do that. Google has been slipping lately, and updates are just getting later in the month now. I guess it is what it is...

I still am not sure if this is google or the carriers to be honest. I know there are opinions either way but it seems like it is the carriers to me.

I have been having some intermittent weirdness with bluetooth since the last update so was hoping that this might also help with some of those. I guess I have to keep waiting.

I spoke too soon with my last reply. I just checked for the update again and it is now downloading on my Verizon P7P.

Got mine on Verizon for my Pixel 7 Pro when I checked about an hour ago. Don't have the new lock screen wallpaper yet. I've seen others say that there will be another update to follow for the wallpapers.

T Mo in the Keystone June update...They have separated so many apps from the updates I don't fuss over it being late.

Nearly half a gig...took about 8 to 10 minutes over a GB connection.

I think there might be some confusion here?
If you have a carrier-branded device, then sure, the update(s) are delayed by said carrier, while they do their mods and some unit-testing and so on.
If you have an unlocked/non-carrier-branded device (typically direct from Google store, or similar), then the model should follow the same flow as an iOS device. all the update bits are direct from a Google-managed distribution.
I would bet there are occasional carrier-blocks for iOS devices as well, I'm just not very in the loop, on the old fruit-brand (I hate walled-garden setups, as a mostly former OS dev/test myself), much the same.

This happened back in Dec, as others have mentioned above, some of us with T-Mo never got the OTA, it was sideload or nothing. The update had some sort of moderately bad issue with T-Mo though, it wasn't a random decision (I remember deciding not to sideload, based on the notes). In this case it wasn't like T-Mo was really gating it, depending on how you define that term, I suppose.

I don't think this is true. If you have Verizon for your carrier, for example, it doesn't matter where you bought your device, from Verizon or Google unlocked, the updates aren't available any sooner for the unlocked version because ultimately the carrier has to approve before you will get it. My fiance has a Google purchased P7Pro and I got mine from Verizon, yet neither of us got the update via OTA until yesterday afternoon, when everyone on Verizon could get it. The version you have from Verizon on my Verizon purchased device is exactly the same as someone who bought the same device from Google. I've had Pixels since the OG 1XL, all purchased from Verizon, and I know others who have the same devices from Google and I always got my update the same version and day as them. The updates come from Google initially, but it is the carriers that "allow" them to go through to their customers regardless of where they bought their devices.
