security updates

I have an S8 Active. Still on July security patch. What's everyone else on? I chatted with an att rep who indicated there was an update available and attempted to push it to me but it didn't come. Then suggested I go to Best Buy to a Samsung experience tech who will help push the update. 2 bb later. No Samsung experience at bb anymore. Att stores have no clue. Anyone have any suggestions?
 
I went to my local att. they were not very helpful, no fault of their own. contacted Samsung via their chat app online. the update is not ready as of yet but soon. they said wait a few more days and see what happens. if no update them contact them back. they said Samsung pushes updates to carriers then carriers push to consumers. let's see if this happens soon. love the phone but there are many bugs and the latest update for the s8 and s8+ added a lot of improvements.

anyone noticing if Amber alerts are not coming across? I don't seem to be getting the alerts. using default Samsung messaging app.
 
man this is getting pathetic. still no updates. although I love the phone for many reasons I am not loving having no security updates. my next phone may not be a Samsung. I may go back to Blackberry. likely the next iteration of the motion if it has more advanced hardware.
 
just received the 10.1.17 security update. hallelujah!!!

Great to see you finally received the update 😃 You are definitely not the only one. Many customers wait quite a few weeks after the security patch has been released because it has to go through carrier testing.

Not all Samsung devices are as slow and sometimes it's just the carrier you are with that's a little slower with updates for a specific device. Crossing fingers the Nov 6 updates comes quickly! 😃
 
i would not say stuck lol that what it came with i hop we get nov or DEC patch level soon cant wait too see how T-Mobile dos with the samsung S8 Active updates wish is new too them
