Seeking a text app with a BIG box for writing

Hi, I have a blackberry-type phone with keyboard at bottom, so my screen is short. The standard android text program gives me only a tiny, 3-line box for writing texts, and it's so hard to scroll up/down to read what I've written, and with the SEND button just next to the typing box, I'm often sending the text when I only want to scroll! Can you recommend a text program with a BIG or expandable box for writing, please??

Most Android devices allow text and thus the space to be enlarged, either by volume keys or "pinching". It depends on the device. A "blackberry-type phone" doesn't give enough information to assist. What is the exact phone, make and model and what version of Android is it running?

Hi, I'm restating a question I wrote earlier because I left out an important detail—the phone model. I have a Motorola Fire XT311/XT316 with keyboard at bottom, so my screen is short. The standard android text program gives me only a tiny, 3-line box for writing texts, and it's so hard to scroll up/down to read what I've written, and with the SEND button just next to the typing box, I'm often sending the text when I only want to scroll! Can you recommend a text program with a BIG or expandable box for writing, please??

And 'pinching'/'dragging big' the text box has no effect, and volume keys just up the ringer vol, even in text mode. (but thank you for your suggestions, Galactic.)

Sorry, I was unable to find anything to help. There is an app called textra that may have worked but it needs Android 4+ but this is too new for your device.
