Seidio Active available

If its anything like my DX Active it "should" work with the extended battery too. Will post back when it arrives if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Not as beefy and no built in screen protector. More like the Otterbox commuter case but only with a holster available.
Are you sure? If its anything like the active case I had for my DX it offers a butt ton more protection than even the Otterbox Defender. Plus AFAIK it is the only holster with a belt clip that will securely fit over a duty / tool belt. This is a big issue for law enforcement / first responders / construction, etc..

I believe you're confusing the Active with the Rugged by Seidio. I have all three for my old DX - Surface, Active and Rugged. Seidio now calls the Rugged the Convert btw.

Surface is a basic plastic shell case, Active is a rubber sleeve with a plastic exoskeleton and Rugged/Convert is a Surface inside a larger rubber sleeve wrapped in a plastic exoskeleton. All three have holster options with the Rugged/Convert being the duty belt compatible one.

I've owned a LOT of cases, including the Seidio Active, Seidio Surface, Otterbox Commuter, and Otterbox Defender. I am kind of a case whore.

I would stay away from the Seidio Surface, they have been known to scratch the phones. You can google it to get more info.

The Seidio Active and Otterbox Commuter are similar and I personally prefer Otterbox. The Otterbox Commuter is $15.00 less and also has free shipping right now. I think the commuter is better put together.

From a company perspective, Otterbox stands behind their products 100% and takes pride in their cases. You can always get someone on the phone within a few minutes. Seidio makes decent products, but their customer service can be a bit shady at times. A while back, they told me on a forum that they would exchange a case, but then when I called, they said I was out of warranty.

I am very biased towards Otterbox.

I agree with you regarding Otterbox vs. Seidio - however - since the only holster Otterbox offers is for a Defender - I normally end up back with a Seidio Active/Holster combo. If only Otterbox would offer a Commuter w/Holster. The old DX Commuter "just" worked with my Seidio Active holster but not well enough to not be sort of a pain in the butt.

I'm a case'whore as well - have had Otterbox Defender, Commuter and all the Seidio's for my iPhone 3GS, Droid X and will for my Nexus before it's all said and done - even had a few SwitchEasy cases for the iPhone - wish they'd offer cases for other makes than Apple. Also tried the Incipio on my Nexus but returned it.

If someone confirms the Commuter to work with the Seido Active Holster I'd be all over that like white on rice.
