Seidio Active case?

I have a few questions.
(Sorry, i'm new here)
I'm looking at either the seidio surface, active, or otterbox commuter. I do occasionally drop my phone and most of where i walk is concrete, so my case would be mostly for protection. I gathered that you wouldn't suggest a seidio surface for protection's sake because of the lack of shock-absorbing layer. Would you say that the active and commuter are about the same protection-wise, or which is better? Also, i always carry my phone in my pocket. Do they add similar amounts of bulk or is one thinner? Lastly, are they both easy to slide in and out of a pocket?
Sorry i have so many questions. I just want to make sure i get the right case (:
Thanks so much!

The Active case and the Commuter case offer very similar protection. Both have a silicone case around the phone with a hard shell over the silicone. I personally like the Active case better because it's more grippy than the Commuter case in my opinion and has a great holster. However, if you like to pocket your Maxx, the Commuter is better because the plastic shell covers more of the silicone thereby allowing it to slide in and out of your pocket alot easier.
I'd say both cases are about the same thickness. It really comes down to personal preference and how you want to carry your Maxx. Both cases are well made and offer good protection.
Hope this helps.

Just got the defender. It does add a good amount of bulk to the phone. Pocketing the phone will be more difficult with the defender due to outer rubber. The grip is great on it though. As for the bulk, yeah it takes away from the razor thin design but I tend to hold the phone between my shoulder and ear quite a bit and naked...I can't do this and cases with smoother outer surfaces slide and drop. The defender lets me position the phone without worrying if it will fall when holding this way.

I like the phone naked but just too uncomfortable with dropping and damaging a $650 phone because that is what it would cost me to replace it. So I am ok with the defender. Again this will be personal preference and we are all different. Good luck wiht your choice.

I got my EVO last night and popped it into the Seidio Surface case. Overall it is pretty awesome, except for 2 things.
  • I have the Seidio Screen Protector and when I slid the case on, it was peeling up the protector. I had to push down on the protector and pull up on the case lip to keep it from peeling.
  • I hook my phone up to my car through a 3.5mm cable and with the case on I can't connect the cable. My options are either get a thinner extension cable that will fit or get the HTC Bluetooth adapter.

Speaking of the Seidio Screen Protector-does anyone know why there is a small cut in the protector? This looks like could cause the protector to peel in the future.
