So I'm the type of techno-junkie that always has to have the latest and greatest of most things. Unfortunately, with phones these days that means new ones come out very fast making the older one obsolete pretty quickly.

My main concern is always protecting these devices. Im a pretty active user of my phones all day long and they are always getting thrown in a pocket or console(in the car) or on a desk and I need them to stay....pretty.

One of the companies I always go to when it comes to protecting my devices is Seidio. They have been around quite a while now and usually always have products out around release time for that device. When I knew I was getting my X, I reached out to Seidio to pre-order a cover and clip.

I have been using my HTC One-X for almost two weeks now and one of the things I love about it is its physical design. Taking a moment to really appreciate the curves all around the phone and the construction capabilities of the molded plastic is incredible. One of my fears when putting a case on would be that I was going to lose those aesthetics.

I received my case and clip yesterday in the mail. I had ordered the blue color for the case as it was a color I was using on my previous Skyrocket and loved it. Not to be let down again, this is really a cool looking case. The blue is almost metallic in color and the feel of the case is grippy while still being able to slide in and out of jeans without pulling lint. Also, its grippy enough to feel like I've got a good hold on this mini-monitor in my hands.

As usual, the construction of the case is two pieces. You slide the top part on first and then the bottom connects with a click. The phone is then well surrounded on all sides and even front and back. I feel comfortable laying the phone down either way and nothing will be affected. One new thing to a Seidio case(for me) is how they created buttons in the case that cover the "power" and "volume" keys. Usually there is a cutout like there is over the USB port. However, I can see that they used these integrated buttons in order to retain the look of the original One-X design. The only thing is really getting used to pressing these buttons as they dont give any feedback that you have actually activated the button. Small trade-off I suppose for some fashion over form. Overall it isn't hard to use them as long as you're looking at the screen to make sure what you want is being done.

So yes, this brings me to the critical part of - How does the case look on the phone? Well, its absolutely awesome. As you can see in the pictures below, the case follows the sexy curves without making it look like theres a full case on there. If I had gotten the case in black, nobody would know there was a case on it unless they held it, its that good.

Ill be using the case in the clip while at work throughout the coming week(and as long as I own this phone) so if its anything like my previous Skyrocket case and clip, it will be very comfortable to use.

At the end, I am once again satisfied that Seidio has come through with a winner of a case. It doesn't make the phone too bulky and it offers as much protection as I would need it to. The materials and fit and finish are first rate and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone here.

Thanks for the nice review and pictures!

The case actually looks pretty bulky to me - almost boxy, covering up those sleek curved lines. I still haven't found a case I like... the HTC blue stripe case is super minimalist, and I used it for 2 weeks, but it wasn't super snug (could feel the sides flex a little when I picked up the phone), and it had zero grip.

Currently riding case-less.

I hear what you're saying but compared to the cases I had on my previous skyrocket, atrix and n1, this case follows the curves very nicely. Much less boxy than the others.

Can you take a couple picture with the screen facing down. Would like to see if the lens is sticking out, flush, or inside the case.

Well there is the one with the screen facing down. You can see that the camera lens is just barely below the case. It is definitely protected from being scratched if its slid on the back of the case. Ill try to take a closer pic though for you.

I got one of those too. I have been using it for about a week now and really like it. Mine is the surface case w/ the rubber case over that and then the plastic skeleton...all this sits in a holster. It's bulky but at least the phone is safe and my jobs requires that I keep the phone safe and working (they pay the bill). I'm a fan of Seidio cases but do agree that they take away from the attractiveness of the naked phone.

I haven't made up my mind on getting a case or not. If I do it will be the Seidio Surface with Kickstand in Red. They aren't shipping that one yet.

Same as prissysox, I'm still undecided on a case yet. I do love how the phone looks, so I'm still not even sure I want a case. But the Surface is on the short list. Thanks for the review!

I've got the BB warranty so if I damage phone they will replace without deductible so I am covered. I feel very weird without a case as I have had a case on all 13 phones since my Palm Pre

So rhw case comes with case and belt clip when you say clip? Is it a rotating belt clip?

Yes, its a form fitting clip made specifically for the surface case. I dont normally take pictures of the clips in my reviews but its very comfortable and sits close to the belt. It does have a rotating clip and a latch at the top that retains the phone at any angle.
