At least on AT&T after the July update. Settings-> Applications->Default Apps->Default app selection->Ask before setting default apps. Viola!

Gosh! U're lucky!

I've just updated my Note 4 with T-mobile yesterday. The annoying default setting drive me nut! It made me to do the research, and now i found this article. I follow the step u showed above, however there is no such thing with T-mobile update.

When I called t-mobile technical support few min ago, they don't even have that kind of update as well!!!

How long do i need to be suffer from this annoying Default apps!!!

They've been surprisingly timely with updates so far on this phone. Hopefully, that means an update is imminent.
