Selfie camera question

Hey folks.

I know the Samsung skin smoothing on the selfie camera is infamous but I'm really not a fan.

I have beauty mode off and still my face looks like a ham (as coined by The Verge!)

Is there anything that can be done here? Are there any other good apps that anybody can recommend for getting around this? I thought Adobe PS may do the trick but it's not so great. What about a version of the google camera?

Not that I take a lot of selfies but I do sometimes and i feel I was a bit spoiled with my iPhone in this respect.

Is there a pro mode for the ffc? Maybe you can try the settings in there, or see if there's a gcam port that will work with the note 20. Samsung's skin smoothing/lightening is baked in and it doesn't appear that they're going to change it if they haven't already.

Maybe I just have such a smooth face that I didn't realise ,??????. But no seriously, there is a massive smoothing on mine.
I did think of the pro mode option myself but that doesn't exist. Just removed the option for the FFC.

Seeing this thread I was going to change the settings for my selfies because God knows I need all the help I can get

My wife who was playing with my phone the other night had already made the appropriate changes already so hopefully I'll be more " photogenic " now!?!?

I noticed the selfie camera on the Note 20 Ultra sucks too and posted about it. Sammy cameras I think always saturate too much, especially in regular, non beauty mode freckles and facial hair show up way too dark.

The beauty mode so for on the Note 20 is nothing like my Note 10 which was way better, especially in beauty mode.

You would think their design team would work out these kinks. I would think software updates will improve it.
