Selfie stick

I wasn't bothered about no headphone jack when I switched to this phone as I don't use it for audio however have just realised with holidays coming that it won't take pictures with my selfie stick. Anyone found a way to use a selfie stick without voice activation to take pictures?

Connect Bluetooth earphones and use the play button as a shutter.
That's what I use for remote release with a tripod.
