Hello there recently I replaced my phones screen and when I booted up I would browse to my camera app then switch to the selfie cam. But my screen would freeze and crash the app
And I would get a could not connect to camera when started app

I assume you are talking about the front camera. It sounds like it isn't connected correctly to the motherboard. Try taking your phone apart and carefully cleaning the all the terminals where the camera connects.

I confirmed all terminals are connected

Try reflashing a factory image or if you're on a ROM, GApps.
