I leased an iphone 6 in December on sprint, and I hate it lol, my account is always in good standing and always will be as far as I'm concerned. my question is, can I sell this device being as it is leased?

Thanks!

If it is leased you do not own it. You're borrowing it from Sprint. You must return it to Sprint and cannot sell the phone.

yeah not sure what I was thinking lol, I'm guessing I'll be taking a loss either way, I can sell it but I'll have to pay the balance on the lease, in my case is I think $450 then an additional $200 to own the device, these leases are awful smh

Well -- see it depends. Sprint is the only one to do "leases" where they let you borrow the phone.. but they also have phone payments (like the other carriers). Are you leasing your device? Or are you buying it full price just over the course of 24 months (usually it is called Sprint "Easy Pay")?

it's a lease for sure, after 24mos you can turn the phone in and get the newest iphone, or you can pay the remaining $200 balance or continue making payments on the $200 until paid off at which point you then own the phone

Yeah screw leasing ... they had a buy one get one free on the iPhone 6s ... but this is ONLY for a lease on a iPhone ...wtf...if u break the phone I are liable for all repair and u all know iPhone 6 and 6s plus are expensive to repair ...u can always get insurance but then that's another 11 a month u have to pay... not worth it

How did you accomplish this if I might ask? I'm in the same situation and I would really love your advice!
I bought the S6 used, I no longer have that phone, I now have an S7 Edge, I still have the iPhone 6 and still hate it lol

Are you still making payments on your leased iPhone?

Edit: Woops.... Should've read closer... Yup, you do

I'm in a lease I want out of as well. I've been trying to find and think of every work around. Basically all you can do is switch to a carrier who offers a buyout program, like T-Mobile. But be very careful with the fine print.

With T-Mobile, they'll give you a prepaid rebate card within two months of switching, but you have to give them your phone and you are enrolled into their T-Mobile ONE unlimited plan and must purchase a device through them.

If all of those stipulations are fine, then go ahead. So long as you can front the cost and last for two months before the card comes, it's technically a clean switch.

Personally, I want a OnePlus 3T which T-Mobile doesn't carry, and I'm not fond of the ONE plan and don't want to pay for what I won't use. Apparently there's a feature called "kickback" where they refund you for data you don't use, but I haven't extensively looked into it.

tl;dr, there are options, but be very careful to research thoroughly.
