send picture messages with Handcent and not stock app?

I'm on RubiX Focused 0.5 and I've used Titanium Backup to freeze the Messaging 2.2 app. However, now I can't send picture messages through Handcent. I unfroze it, was able to send pix messages, but then I get two notifications. Is there any way to send picture message through Handcent without getting two notifications? I'd rather freeze/uninstall the app I don't use, as opposed to simply turning off notifications for it. Thoughts?

Yes, go into the stock messaging app - menu - settings - received notifications and uncheck the box. Now I only receive notifications from handcent.

I'm using froyo and the wimax notifier and it works perfectly.
