Send pictures to computer over wifi

What is the best way to do this? Is this what DLNA is for? - I dont know how to use it

Nevermind DLNA. There is a program you can purchase for short money called wifi media sync. They are on the second version and it's the bomb. Use it all the time to upload video's, mp3, etc. Basically you designate a given folder on your computer and drag anything you want to upload to it.
Your computer and phone must be on the same network in order for it to work.
The program on the phone (client) side looks for any changes (new files added to the folder) and can automatically upload the files (if you so choose). It looks for delta changes basically.

can this work the other way as well (sending mp3s to the phone)

Thats what it does. You put stuff into the folder on the computer. You phone then goes out and looks for changes. If changes = true then the phone downloads them from the computer.
