Okay, I am coming back to Android from an iPhone 5. Getting a Maxx HD, and I do have a question. When I do a video on the iPhone, and send it by MMS, it compresses the video and sends it on. Every Android phone that I have owned (which is several) will say "this file is too large". What's up with that? If Apple can do this with ease, then why can't Android? Or am I doing something wrong?
And I am turning the resolution to the lowest setting.

Android messaging honestly sucks. You aren't doing anything wrong. I love my note 2 but the messaging (both stock and have tried every 3rd party messaging app) is garbage.

There is an app called WhatsApp that will take care of you. It will allow you to send texts and videos. The video can be up to 12 mb in size. So, if you keep your resolution down than you can get a pretty long video sent if you want.

Remember, that this app will have to be on your phone and the recipient's phone as well to work. I really like the app. It is similar to Voxer, but with video features as well. Hope this helps.

So what you're saying is i have to download a new app, have anyone I want to send an mms to download the same app...

You call that taking care of you??

Sorry, but no

You came here seeking a solution and you were given a possible way to solve your problem. This is how Android messaging works, simple. If you record a short video in low resolution, then you can usually send it. Other than that, you will have to deal with it like the rest of us.

I just don't understand how Apple can do it, and Android can't.

And there are a lot of things android can do that Apple can't. I don't see the argument there. I was just trying to give you a way to do something that you want to do. You are under no pressure to use my idea. I hope you can find something that works for you. All the best to you.

It's a simple text feature. Your idea sucks. Making everyone download an app so you can mms with them is laughable. That isn't a solution at all.

No intent for an argument, and I do appreciate your input on a solution. I haven't downplayed your solution, and I hope that you realize that.
I am only saying that Android should be able to implement sending MMS of basically any size or resolution, as Apple seems to do it with no problem, and I don't think that the process is proprietary to Apple. This should be a feature of the stock messaging app. What is the good of recording 1080p video, if you are so VERY limited in how it is shared?
Get with the program, Google!
