Sending pictures via Hangouts

So I know if I send a pic through the stock messaging app I get charged for each picture. Is it the sam3 when sending through Google Hangouts? Or is it sent over wifi or your data if you have one or the other on... Basically, will I be charged for picture messages through hangouts lol

No, it's through data/wifi (if you have it connected), not SMS/MMS.
